Some pictures from the camp out.

As you know, Dylan & I went on a camp out last weekend with Cub Scouts. High temps for weekend were in the mid-30s. Overnight lows were lower 20s. We get there somewhere around 8pm which is normally Dylan's bedtime, but there was no way we were getting 13 kids in bed. Dylan was running around with the other kids while the adults were unpacking & getting the cabin warmed with the woodstove. I was looking at the woodstove thinking that somebody was going to get burnt on that thing when all of a sudden I see a kid in an orange sweatshirt rounding the corner, putting his hand on it & immediately pulling it away. Yep, it was Dylan. He got his palm & all five fingers. (pictures below).

So we get his hand all wrapped up and he has to go to the bathroom. Well, he didn't want to use the outhouse so we had to walk several hundred yards in the freezing cold down the road to the adult shower building. It was dark, it was cold, it was a long walk, Dylan was scared.......this was going to be a looooong weekend.

We get back to the cabin & get ready for bed. I see Dylan finish off a large cup of hot chocolate. Great. I sure am looking forward to making that long hike to the bathroom in the middle of the night with Dylan. Thankfully, he did not have to go during the night. The next day--since the sun was out & we could see--I was able to convince him to use the outhouse.

The rest of the weekend went great. We went on a hike, played flag football, learned about astronomy, and ate s'mores by the fire.

Our 5-star accommodations.

Dylan was excited to finally get there.

Finally settled for the night.
