Chan just bought a new manual mower (no engine, no gas, no electric.... just push power). Not entirely sure why he's giving up the gas mower, but I think it has something to do with sitting back, drinking a beer and watching Dylan mow. The funny thing is that I actually 'caught' Dylan mowing today. He didn't even ask, he just went to the shed, got the mower and started mowing for fun. If only it could last.
Had a great Easter "up at the cabin" (as the kids call it). We went up to Wilkes Barre to spend the day with the great-grandparents. The kids absolutely love going up there. We got up early Easter morning, the kids hunted eggs and looked through their baskets and then we left at 7:30 am and go to church in WB at 10. The kids had an egg hunt at the church and then we had lunch at Old Country Buffet. Afterward the grandparents treated the kids to their usual trip to the Dollar Store and then went back to their house and hung out. The kids love fishing at the cabin. The fish beg to jump on the hook. It's the best fishing hole in PA! We headed back later that night.
It's been a few days since Easter so I started making egg salad with the leftover dyed eggs and Cameron came into the kitchen and burst into tears. He was devastated to see me smashing up the eggs that he worked so hard to decorate. I was about to pass it off as him just being tired and cranky, but then I had a flashback to when I was about his age and cried my eyes out because my jackolantern (aka: Jackie) was brown and mushy and he had to be thrown away. It felt like I was losing a loved one. Kinda pathetic that I was friends with a pumpkin, but little things like that can mean a lot when you're 6.
Gabriel has started soccer and really likes it. I don't think we'll have any problems with Gabriel not standing up for himself or being shy. He's yapping with the coaches the whole time and talking to every kid there. He puts his arm around his friends and fights hardcore for the ball. I think he'll do great in sports.

So cute, Carrie. I have pictures of my aunts and uncles doing the same thing Dylan is doing, to demonstrate how bored they were when they were kids and how they 'made up' fun ;)
Also - I am THRILLED to see someone else using a reel mower! My hubby still uses the gas but I use the people-powered one whenever I get a chance!
