Let's see. Today in the car Cameron counted backwards from 100. It was his first attempt ever and he did it almost flawlessly! He's a self-taught number cruncher. Cameron is going to be graduating from preschool soon. We're still not sure exactly where he'll go next year. We have him registered at two different preschools and kindergarten. His birthday is right on the line between preschool and kindergarten. We're just playing it by ear.
Gabriel is obsessed with dig digs (construction vehicles) and you should hear him scream with excitement when he sees a garbage truck. What is it with boys and trucks? He also loves trains and anything with wheels. His vocabulary is still limited, so instead of speaking in sentences, he just says "MAMA! MAMA! MAMA! MAMA! MAMA! MAMA!" all day long just to hear himself speak. A few random times today I would count how many "mamas" he said in a 15 min period. Each time I did this it came out to around around the same each time... which means he LITERALLY shouts "MAMA!" approx. 2,500 times a day.... No, I'm not exaggerating! Two-thousand five hundred times...at least! No wonder I'm going coo-coo! And this doesn't count all the MAMA's from Dylan and Cam. It also doesn't include all the daily tantrums and tears. A persons head can only take so much noise. It's late, everyone's asleep.... Silence is Golden. :)
Gotta keep record of his cute baby talk:
mama (in case you didn't catch that)
yaya (dada)
/snort/ (he makes pig sounds for 'pig')
/raspberries/ (he blows raspberries w/ his lips for 'dog')
deck (this just means deck...he loves to play on the deck)
gug-gug (drink)
num-num (eat)
owal (oval)
up-up (which means both up AND down)
ma (more)
da (which means 'ta da' if he does a trick or if he wants to the book "Mollywitch Does Magic Tricks")
the-the (train)
bud (bug)
ba (ball)
ba ba (football or basketball, possibly even baseball)
Nana (banana)
Duck (self explanatory)
Brr-Brr (car)
Dylan started tball, but so far 3 of his 5 practices have been cancelled due to weather. Dylan got his 3rd marking period report card. For the thrid time in a row he's got 'advanced' in math. Everything else is right on target and the only tiny little mention of improvement needed is his handwriting... he tends to get a little sloppy (but if anyone has ever seen his mommy's handwriting, it's no surprise... or his daddy's for that matter). Dylan's been getting very excited for his 7th bday party.... Where did the last 7 years go? Seven sounds so old!
