It's a Boy!!

We are very proud to announce the arrival of:

Gabriel Walker Bryson

May 21, 2007
1:32pm

9 lbs. 10 oz. 20 1/4"

Proud big brothers!

He doesn't look like he's only 1 day old

I was scheduled for the c-section at 1pm on Monday. As the doctor began the surgery she realized that he wasn't going to fit through the same hole as Cameron had come through....so she cut it a little bigger and tugged and pulled and tugged and pulled until she finally got him out (he didn't want out!) To our surprise he was a plump 9 lbs 10 oz (9.8 oz to be exact). Everything went smoothly and we quickly got settled into the recovery room.

Even though I missed Dylan and Cameron terribly while in the hospital, it was nice to have that quiet/relaxing time to bond with Gabriel. He is SO SWEET!! I love to just cuddle him and stare at him and kiss him. It's hard to say who he looks like...he looks like Gabriel. He has features of both Dylan and Cameron (and Chan and I, of course). He has less hair than Dylan and Cameron had (Cam had the most). He's nursing like a champ and doing wonderfully.

When we brought Dylan and Cameron into the room to meet Gabriel, Cameron took right to him. Dylan shy'd away a little, but now that we're home, he's quickly falling in love with his baby brother. As soon as Cameron came into the room he said "Can I hold him?", "Can I touch him?", "I LIKE Gabriel!!" Then when we said "Do you want to hold him now?" Cameron said "What if he poops on me!?"

I am loving every little moment with Gabriel. Now that I know how quickly time can go by, I don't want to miss a single moment. It's so weird to see Gabriel wearing an outfit that Dylan wore as a newborn...and now Dylan is heading to Kindergarten.

This kid can poop! When we were in the hospital I heard him making some 'noises' and I knew he needed a diaper change. I wasn't able to get out of bed yet and Chan wasn't there, so I had the nurse change him. Now she has a great story to tell! His diaper was SO FULL that she said that in all her years in Labor/Delivery, she had never seen such a mess in a newborns diaper!! She opened it up and just stood there in shock. She said that she didn't even know where to begin. She said that she had never before had to put on gloves and get out a washcloth for a baby's first diaper change! She goes "It's the size of an adults!!" She was laughing like crazy the whole time. She had to change his clothes and his sheets. As she was trying to find out where to begin cleaning up the mess, he began spraying like a fountain! It got her, the wall, everything. THEN today I opened up his diaper to change his poopy diaper and he started to poo some more...and then some more....and then he started to spray everywhere. You would think that I would learn to 'keep it covered' after having had two other boys.

I will keep you all posted on the adventures of the Bryson Boys.

Congratulations! I think Gabriel is a beautiful baby with a beautiful name. He seems to look like a perfect mix of Dylan and Cameron.

First off~CONGRATULATIONS. You are 1/3 closer to having your own little baseball team. I am very excited for you. The boys~all 3 of them~ are beautiful. It sounds like you are managing just fine, as I knew you would.

Keep in touch. I love looking at the photos and watching them grow.

Love,
