Haircuts

Yep, we did it. Many of you will be asking WHY we did it, but this past weekend we took all the boys for haircuts. Yes, ALL the boys (including Gabriel and his curls!)

We all know that Gabriel’s curls were his trademark look and we all know that they were adorable, but only the mommy who has to manage his mop knows that it was time for a little trim. I think they were starting to bother him. He was always scratching his head and messing with his puffy hair when he was annoyed. Plus, when it got too dry, it puffed up 2 miles high – although it was cute in a funny way, I would prefer that he be cute in a cute way. Then, before we’d go anywhere, I’d have to wet his hair down and try to tame it a little…and if he had already rubbed his breakfast all through his hair and then I wet it, it looked like he had gel in his hair – crispy curls! Yes, even though the curls were totally adorable and he got non-stop comments about them, they were actually distracting from his natural adorableness. People would say “Look at those curls!” and forget to actually look at Gabriel. Now…with his new do, we can actually see his face and not focus only on his puff. The good news is, is that we think the curls will be making an appearance again very soon. Even though his hair is short, it’s still not straight. My fear with getting them cut was that they’d be gone forever, but as of now, they’re still there – just short. Even after washing it and combing it, it’s still very wavy and thick and it’s only a matter of a few weeks before we’ll probably be seeing the rolls of curly Q’s piling up again.

Of course Gabriel cried when getting his hair cut, but it’s amazing how fast those tears disappeared when we took him out of the chair and gave him a lollypop!

BUT GABRIELS SO CUTE!!!! It look almost like he's working up to getting the "pop". Hope you don't have as much trouble next time. Maybe he should get to hold his pop before the next cut. LOVE A-MA
