We had a super busy (super wonderful) birthday weekend. Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Dylan and Gabriel's birthdays. It's so nice to have our family and friends with us during the special events in our lives. The boys had a fantastic time!! Saturday was the family party and Sunday was Dylan's party with his friends from school and cub scouts. As you all know, Dylan doesn't talk to kids at school. I asked Dylan if he would talk at his party and he said yes. I was a little skeptical considering that there will be 10 kids there (large group)....but, a few minutes into the party he was the Dylan that we all know!! He was talking and laughing and running around and shouting and calling his friends by name and being silly and yelling to everyone. It was AWESOME to see him so relaxed and having such a great time with his friends. It's the first time I have ever seen him like this with a group of kids (other than family). The one card said "To my best friend Dylan" and the kid read it outloud when Dylan opened it, then another kid said "Dylan's my best friend" and then another kids said "Mine too!" etc.. It was so cute. Dylan was loving every second of it. Everyone crowded around him and everyone fought to sit next to him. Most parents take these moments for granted, but when you have a child who is so fearful of social situations, then it's the best feeling in the world to see him simply enjoying his birthday party and friends. And it was nice for his friends to finally hear him talk! :)
Now that I posted the toad video online, Gabriel is obsessed with watching it. He comes up to my computer and says "TOAD! TOAD!" and will watch it over and over again. Every time we go outside he says "TOAD! DECK!" because that's where he found it.
Cameron told me his business plan today. First he'll work at McDonald's and then he's going to be a construction worker and then when he turns 21 he's going to be an astronaut.
