This might be one of those stories that is only funny if you were there, but I was there, so it was funny. Dylan and Cam were trying to get Gabriel to say big words, but Gabriel was impressed with a specific 'big word'.
Cam: "Gabriel, can you say 'Communicate'?"
Gabriel: "No, but I can say 'Medium'. That's a big word, 'Medium'.'"
Dylan: "Gabriel, can you say 'Combine Harvester'?"
Gabriel: "No. I can say 'Medium'. (the way he said it was funny - slow and serious)

Mimi got the boys some books of academic questions. Cam wanted the first grade book (after all, he is about to enter kindergarten). The book is full of first grade questions and even have some 'Genius' questions (extra hard ones). One of the genius questions was "What is 202 plus 110?" I said to Cam "Let me get a piece of paper and show you how to set it up to add big numbers like that." A few seconds later, before I could even grab a pen, Cam says "312. That's SO easy!" Yes, he's adding triple digit numbers in his head in a matter of seconds. Then he says, matter-of-factly "All you have to do is take the 10 plus the 2 and then add the 200 plus the 100 and then add the 12 and 300 together and you have 312." ...um, Cam, you are way too smart for your own good! Did I mention that he's only 5?

Gabriel always calls Dylan and Cam his 'boys'. For instance if he can 't find them he'll say "Mama, where are my boys?"

The other day Dylan's friend Connor came over and Gabriel instantly assumed that it was his friend too. All day Gabriel talked about his 'best friend' (Connor). I felt so sad for Gabriel when he was looking all around for his best friend and was so excited to find him downstairs. Sadly when Connor saw Gabriel wearing nothing but undies and started chanting "Tighty Whities! Tighty Whities!" Gabriel came back upstairs in tears saying "My best friend is being SO RUDE!" A sentence I could never imagine Dylan saying when he was newly 3 years old. The third child has such a different life than the first. When Dylan was 3 he lived in a calm, peaceful house... poor Gabriel is growing up in a three ring circus! :)

Yesterday we made really cool hand and feet prints. The kids stuck their feet and hands into the sand in the sandbox and then I filled the imprints with plaster of paris. About a half hour later we had 'footprints in the sand' that will last forever. I even made one of Duke's paw.
The hands and feet after the plaster was poured.
Dylan with his hand print, Gabriel with his foot print &Duke's foot print and Cam with his foot print.
(Of course Dylan has a Hot Wheels car on his)

Today the boys did Splatter Painting. They had fun being able to whip their paintbrushes around and make a big mess.

Here's the new guinea pig, Spot, and Patch meeting for the first time. We are spoiled with Patch because he's like a breathing stuffed animal. Very cuddly and 'mature'. This new guinea pig is totally spastic... a fast, skittish little thing. We call him Speedy Spot.
