For the past few months Gabriel has a new unique personality trait... he thinks he's a baby chick... and I'm his "Mother Chick". Whenever he's feeling tired or in a cuddly mood he says "I'm your baby chick and you're my mother chick" and he insists that I cover him completely with a sheet (his "egg") and I hold him until he's ready to hatch. This happens at least once a day, usually twice for around 10 minutes - or longer if he falls asleep. I think when we brought the real live chicks home he had a strong bond with them. I like being his mother chick.
The other day we were talking about college with the boys. I said to them "I went to college to learn to do art on the computer and daddy went to do math stuff. When you get to college you can do anything you want." A few minutes later Gabriel seemed to be talking nonsense (which isn't unusual for him) and he said "I'm going to throw bricks through windows and doors." We're like "What are you talking about?" He said "You said that when I go to college I can do anything I want!" I then had to explain that he can BE anything he wants, not DO anything he wants. Big difference!
