Wow, what a week the boys have had! Not only did they bring home excellent report cards, but then yesterday Dylan came home with an "Outstanding Citizen" award from Red Mill for all his help with the KAP kids. Every morning Dylan goes down and helps a group of kindergarten children with their school work. This is his second year doing this and only a few kids are picked each year. Dylan was also happy because this week he had Environment Club (which he loves), Lunch Bunch (which he loves) and he got chosen for "ticket pick" which is a special reward in class. As if he wasn't already on Cloud 9... we had an absolutely AMAZING day at the Pinewood Derby!

Dylan had never won anything other than a "Participation" trophy at the Pinewood Derby. This year we were really hoping that he would 'place' (1st, 2nd, 3rd) since this will be his 4th year racing and he's had 3 years of being bummed that he didn't win a big blue trophy. This is Cameron's first year getting to race as a scout and not just a sibling (siblings have a very low key race after the "real" races are over). Well, to our total surprise Dylan and Cameron
both won 1ST place in their dens!! Then to add a cherry on top Dylan won the all-time track speed record!! He not only had the fastest car in his den (which is his age group) and not only did he have the fastest car in the entire pack (which is all the ages of scouts), but he had the fastest car ever on that track! Now Dylan and Cameron both get to move on to the District races in Carlisle. And of course I don't want to leave Gabriel out... he had an adorable ghost car that he got to race in the sibling race. He didn't come in first, but either way all the siblings got participation trophies. It was a really fun, exciting day!
