Good news!
Good news! I took Gabriel for his "second opinion" about his possible hernia and the doctor said that he doesn't see one! Thank goodness. I'm told he's an excellent pediatric surgeon and very knowledgeable about such topics. I guess Gabriel has a lot of fluid and swelling, but no hernia. They said the fluid/swelling shouldn't be a problem and should eventually go away on its own but it may take until he's walking. I guess when a child is upright and walking it changes things or something. Anyway, I'm just glad that he doesn't need surgery. When I was checking out at the reception window the lady said that she already had him all scheduled for surgery. I'm so glad that I'm one of the parents who got to leave there with good news. There were 3 other parents there with their infants and a few parents who had older children and I overheard another mom making an appt. for her baby's surgery. Not sure what kind, but I'm just glad I didn't have to do that. Gabriel just wants to make sure that he keeps us on our toes!
