Cameron LOVES to sing. Not sure where he got that talent from, but he does it all the time. He sings when he wakes up, he sings all day, he sings himself to sleep - he sings in the middle of the night! He likes singing the Alphabet Song, Twinkle Twinkle, Old McDonald and of course he loves to make up his own songs. It started with a song called "Love You Up" which lead to "Love You Duke" (our dog) and has now turned into "Love You Mama", "Love You Dada", "Love You ___" (fill in the blank). He'll also take that tune and sing about going to the doctors, going to grandmas, about the yellow store by grandma's house, about the Farm Show.... It's amazing how he'll turn anything and everything into a song. He's also great at hitting the high notes!
Cameron says and recognizes most of the alphabet. There are still some letters that he wont say, like 'A', 'I' and 'W'. He can recognize most numbers up to 10 and counts out loud to 6 (he always stops when he gets to 7 when he's saying them). He knows all his shapes, colors, animals, animal sounds etc... Of course if you show him a hexagon or the color Burnt Umber.....he hasn't quite mastered those! lol. :) He's starting to use 2 and 3 word sentences. He had his 2 yr checkup today (3 months late.....hey, I've been busy!) and all looks well. He did great at the doctor! He took his little doctor kit with him and his 'Elmo Visits the Doctor' book. The pediatrician was great and read through the book as she did the exam. Whatever Elmo's doctor did, she did. If Cameron got nervous, we just showed him that Elmo did it and he was fine. His height is in the 90th percentile and his weight was off the chart - which is no surprise with the way he eats!!! He's not overweight at all, he's just a growing boy!
The doctor was looking through Cameron's chart and I noticed that she stopped to read something. Apparently someone (I have no idea who) must have seen our story about the stork biz in the Central Penn Business Journal and made a copy of it and put it in Cam's chart! Not sure how they knew it was me - no one there knows I own the business and I doubt they know my name (everything is under the kids names). There was a photo of me in it, wonder if someone recognized me or something. I just thought it was funny that the doctor found it in Cameron's chart. Wonder if there is one in Dylan's too?
Cameron is in such a cute stage. I don't know why people say "Terrible Two's". I LOVE the two's. I would say that Cameron is happy and content over 90% of the time - which is great considering everyone assumes a 2 yr old is just a tantrum-waiting-to-happen. He just loves life and enjoys each day. You can usually find him with a big smile on his face and he loves to cuddle and snuggle. Tonight when we were snuggling before bed I asked him what he dreamed about last night and he said "sailboats". It was so cute. I often wonder what goes on in kids heads and what they dream about. It's fun now that he can tell me. The other night he said he dreamed about horses.
