Dylan's First Christmas Play!

Dylan just after his play - dressed as a sheep

Today was Dylan's first play! His preschool did a Christmas play - complete with Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, angels, cows.....and the most adorable sheep you ever saw - our little Dylan! Dylan's teacher came up to me last week and said that most likely Dylan wont go onto the stage and that it's ok if he just comes and sits with us. And knowing Dylan, it was a possibility. There were 60 four and five year olds in the play! Not only did he go onto the stage, but he actually wore his costume (which some kids refused) AND not only did he go up and participate, but he smiled ear to ear during most of it...and even waved to mommy and blew me a kiss from the stage. :) :) :) My camera wasn't cooperating and I couldn't get a nice shot of him during the play, but we have lots of video. He didn't have any lines (sheep don't talk ya know), but he was SO proud of his very important role. To my surprise, the play was very well done.... who'd have thought you could get that many preschoolers organized for such a cute play!? It went really well. Right after the play, Cameron ran up to Dylan and gave him a huge hug and kiss...."Elmo!" I grabbed my camera and caught the tail-end of that enduring moment.

Here are a few of the things that have kept the Bryson boys busy lately....

I let the boys help me paint Dylan's room. The boys will be sharing a room soon and I wanted to redo the room with a more sophisticated look....so I let them grab one of daddy's tshirts, some rollers, some brushes and some paint! To my complete astonishment, there was no paint on the floor and the wall looked great!

I found a recipe online to make homemade finger paints. We made up a few batches and I let the boys strip down, hop into the tub and paint away! The tub walls, their bodies, each other.... they had a blast! And all I had to do was turn on the faucet, hand them some washcloths and the tub was spotless! I'll have to keep this in mind for those long, dark, cold, dreary winter days.

While Cameron was napping, Dylan wanted to make a bib for him. Dylan was busy glueing colored cotton balls and stickers and shapes and letters and numbers onto some felt. We stapled some yarn onto it for ties. It turned out really cute and Cameron loved it.....then silly daddy went and let Cameron eat cereal while wearing it! It wasn't meant to actually be used - at least not with something messy like milk. That poor glue and cotton ball stapled bib couldn't be washed. Oh well... at least I was quick with the camera and got a photo of it before it went bye-bye. :) That's the big difference between men and women.... women believe that special home-made bibs are meant to only be looked at and admired, while men believe that if it's a bib, it's meant to be spilled on. haha.

As I'm sitting here typing, the baby is kicking. AND.... I just SAW it kick for the first time! My belly just did a tiny little 'jump' right where I felt the light kick. Even though this is my third pregnancy, it's still VERY cool and fascinating!
