Love the thumb

Our little thumb sucker

This week Gabriel rolled over for the first time (from his belly to his back ). We've also discovered that he's going to be a thumb sucker. We've never had a thumb sucker before. Cameron liked pacifiers and Dylan's comfort object was his belly button (he loved sticking his finger in his belly button when he was tired). It's so cute to see him sucking his thumb. Of course there are pros/cons to all comfort objects. People say that pacifiers are easier to break, but that they can get lost or dropped and you always have to have them on hand. And they say that thumbs are nice because you can't lose it or drop it, but it's harder to break. yada, yada, yada... I'm not too worried about it being a hard habit to break. I just like that it satisfies him and it's so darn cute! He knew from birth that he wanted that thumb, but he didn't have the coordination until recently. We've been trying to give him a pacifier for 3 months and he never wanted it, but if he got anywhere near skin, he'd latch on. I've had hicky's on my arm before. He used to suck on Chan's finger when he was younger. Now he loves being able to get his own thumb. He knew that a pacifier was "fake", he wanted something more real.
