It's out!

Dylan got himself all worked up about his loose tooth. I think it just surprised and scared him. He didn't know anything about the tooth fairy or anything. I wouldn't doubt if he thought that maybe he did something wrong. People always say things like "If you eat too much candy your teeth will fall out..." I wonder if he thinks that he ate too much candy or that he didn't brush good or something. Anyway, he got himself so worked up that he didn't speak, smile or eat for an entire day. He was also so upset that he threw up! He was not happy at all about losing a tooth. But when he threw up, his tooth came out! Then he fell asleep on the couch and when he woke up he was back to his old self again. He even put his tooth under his pillow tonight. A word of caution, I wouldn't say anything to him just yet about his tooth until he accepts that it's gone and that it'll look and feel different. The tooth fairy is going to leave him a gold one dollar coin. Luckily daddy was able to find one at 6pm at the last minute.

I'm already worried like crazy for him at school. On the playground at school they have a little thing on the playground equipment and it has 2 little cars that you can race. It's his favorite thing. We went to his school playground a few times over the summer and he always played with the race cars. Well, when he finally started to talk again tonight he told me that there were two other kids playing with it today and that he asked the kids if he could play and they said no! I felt SOOOOOOO sad when he told me that. We all know that it's one of the first times he's ever initiated a conversation with another kid that he didn't know and for the kid to say 'no' just broke my heart. As grown-ups we know that kids at that age don't mean any harm, they simply wanted to play with the toy, but Dylan is so sensitive and I know that he's been trying so hard to speak and it just never turns out right (ie: when he told the teacher that he did his homework and his teacher didn't hear him and he didn't get a prize for doing his homework...) Anyway, despite those instances, he really likes school. I'm so glad we decided to move forward with kindergarten and not keep him in another year of pre-k.

Cameron's birthday party will be on Oct. 7. I'm still working on the plans. More info to come.
