Cameron's first day of preschool

Cam with his bucket. All the kids bring buckets instead of backpacks.
He got to decorate it himself.
He glued on family photos and stuck on stickers.

The day has finally arrived! Cameron has been SO excited and has been singing his "I'm gonna go to preschool" song for weeks. The day turned out really nicely. All morning he kept saying "I'm SO excited!" He simply walked into his class and jumped right into the swing of things. No fussing, no tears, no hesitation. What a change from Dylan's first day... where the teachers practically had to hold him down as he screamed and cried daily for almost 2 weeks. It was awful! It broke my heart. Taking Cam to preschool was so much easier. He was a little worried about missing me, but was excited to go.

I picked him up 2 1/2 hrs later and he was all smiles. He kept saying "I had FUN!" Later tonight he told me (in a sweet little voice) "I had so much fun today that I didn't even miss you." Which was actually a good thing because he was very concerned about missing me. He did say that it was a little long. His teacher said that sometimes the 2nd day is actually harder for the kids because the first day they don't know what to expect, but the 2nd day they know how long they'll be there and what they're in for. I think Cam will be ok.

This is Cam about 2 minutes after leaving the preschool parking lot.
It was a busy first day!

I like his preschool so much better already than where Dylan went. Tomorrow Cam will be baking cookies in school. Dylan's preschool never had a field trip the entire year, but Cam will be going on a field trip in 2 weeks to Paula's Market. If you've ever been there in the fall you know how cool it is. The neatest part is that me and Gabriel can go too. They'll have a hayride, pumpkin picking, planting etc...

Cameron showed me a worksheet that he did today. He said "Some kids needed help, but I didn't." He was very proud of himself. It makes me happy to see him confident and happy.

Daddy and Gabriel after dropping Cam off at school

This is what it looks like when a wobbly new walker tries to walk down a hill and ends up "kissing" concrete. Ok, so kissing isn't the right word. It was more like "slamming and skidding head-first onto a drivway"! OUCH!

OUCH (for Gabriel)!!! Did he cry?! Cameron is such a big boy now and he kept telling me (too) that he was "excited" about Pre-school. I told him, "your a big boy now, going to school". He corrected me: "pre-school". LOVE A-MA
