Reuse, Recycle

It's amazing the creative things you do when you have kids. We were at Ama's house eating dinner and as Dylan bit into his corn dog his tooth fell out (this is his 3rd). We set the tini tiny little tooth on the table. Dylan put a napkin in his mouth to stop the blood and walked around with it in his mouth the whole night...it's the longest I think he's ever gone without talking. ;) We were getting ready to leave when I noticed that the tooth wasn't on the table. I guess grandma wiped the table and didn't know it was there. We looked all over and couldn't find it anywhere. hhmmm, how do we explain that to the tooth fairy? I found a small pebble and put it in an envelope and sealed it up and gave it to Dylan (hey, it felt like a tooth!) When we got home I quickly switched out the pebble for the first tooth that he lost (I couldn't resist keeping the first tooth). So, we recycled the old tooth and put it under his pillow. Now for the next hurdle...we always give him a gold dollar coin from the tooth fairy... we didn't have one. Around midnight Chan drove down to Giant in New Cumberland in search of a gold coin (which reminds me of the last tooth Dylan lost where Chan drove all around town looking for a dollar coin...you'd think we'd learn and keep some in stock!). He arrived home with the treasured coin and he successfully made the switch. Mission accomplished!

Oh, and of course, don't tell Dylan that you know about his tooth falling out. He doesn't really want anyone to know.

BOY! what parents have to do to satisfy the kids! That was quick thinking/a good idea. Hope Chan got a few coins. Cam will need them too in the future. Maybe you should get a roll for future use. Love A-ma
