Took the boys shopping today for new backpacks for school. Cameron was super excited because it's his first backpack ever. He can't wait to start kindergarten! After backpacks we got school supplies. This is the first year that Red Mill requires the parents to buy the school supplies. It was kinda fun to finally be able to buy those 25 cent box of crayons and 50 cent pencil boxes. If anyone is in need of office or art supplies, go now while they're CHEAP!
After shopping for a bit we tried to get lunch for the boys and I at the cafe in Target. Ordered nuggets - they were out of nuggets. Ordered hot dogs - they were out of hot dogs. Ordered apples - they were out of apples. Ordered breadsticks - they were out of marinara sauce. Ordered 2 pepperoni pizzas - they only had 1. Did I mention they were out of napkins too? We finally ended up with 1 pepperoni pizza and 1 cheese. We finally get settled at a table and Cam says "I'm not hungry anymore". Figures.
Yesterday we had a fun playdate here at the house. There were 7 kids from playgroup (plus Dylan, Cam and Gabriel). 10 kids running around the yard, playing on the inflatable waterslide, splashing in the pool, swinging on the swings.... it was nice to see them all playing and running around and yelling with excitement and laughing and enjoying summer. Between the 10 kids there were 4 of us moms and we got some time to just chat. It's funny how eventually the boys and girls split. The girls were on one side of the yard on the see-saw and playing dolls and the boys were on the driveway playing with Hot Wheels cars and trading Silly Bandz.
